Day 1 – Jungle Camping
At 8:30 am, meet your guide at the office before taking a minivan to the starting point, stopping at a local market for food supplies. The trek begins in Nam Ha village, where we meet a local guide knowledgeable about the trail, plants, and wildlife tracks.
After a short walk through plantations, we enter the untouched jungle of Nam Ha National Protected Area, where you may spot wildlife or their tracks. A picnic lunch is enjoyed on the way. Our guides will share ancestral knowledge about medicinal plants and edible leaves, teach you to set up a traditional hunter camp, and prepare a delicious Khmu jungle meal.
We then continue trekking downhill through the primary forest until we reach the campsite.
Day 2 – Wilderness Campsite
Wake up to the sounds of wildlife from the surrounding mountains. After breakfast, we follow the return trail along the Nam Ha NPA valley.
After lunch, we continue downhill toward a stream under towering canopies, arriving at a village before sunset. Settle into your homestay, then explore the village to learn about local traditions and culture. After a traditional dinner, enjoy community-led tourism activities.
Day 3 – Nalan Village (Khmu Tribe)
In the morning, enjoy Lao coffee or local tea in bamboo cups, then try crossbow shooting or traditional rice pounding.
After breakfast, we hike up a steep hill to a breathtaking viewpoint. The trail is more challenging but offers stunning landscapes, dense forests, and towering canopies. A traditional lunch is prepared along the forest path.
The day ends with a two-hour descent to Chalernsouk village, where we stay overnight.
Day 4 – Return to Luang Namtha
At 9:00 am, we depart the village, hiking through dense rainforest, crossing streams, and passing cultivated lands. Along the way, guides will explain the importance of plants and trees to indigenous communities.
After a picnic lunch in the jungle, we continue beneath towering old-growth trees before reaching Doilukkham. A minivan then takes us back to Luang Namtha, concluding the trek.
